Day 3, Fire 5...

Day 3

We left Smitswinkel a little heavier having purchased snacks, sweets, for the local cycling fans that stand on the side of the road shouting 'hou bene hou' and some beautiful knitted garments i.e face clothes, tea cosies and beanies. A few kilometers down the road we had our first breakage, Leonard's seat post. It snapped off leaving a pannier and seat and a seperate entity. Luckily we have two geoligists and a good man with random information and we were soon on the road again. Leonard was on my bike with panniers and I rode his like a BMX, very low seat!!
We decided to take a swim break at the Uhuru hot water Spa where we relaxed, made our famous coffee brew, swam and ate our breakfast.
We were stared at by the locals as we did not quite fit I without a caravan and swimming gear.
We arrived back in Calitzdorp with plenty of time to restock the bar, kitchen and Leonard's bike. A seat post shipped from George.another wonderful day with wonderful folk.

Day 3: Smitswinkel

A lovely stay at Bella de Karoo after a challenging ride on the back roads. The ride was stunning. We ride past the dam near Calitzdorp through Kruis Rivier. The views were beautiful and the people were friendly. Thanks to my fellow cyclists for the help up the 'rolling hills'.
